We work with photographic images most days, cropping, scaling and retouching them, but we also love to take them too.

Generally, we’re so busy in the studio that we just don’t have the time to head out and shoot anything ourselves. So we booked a “Get Off Auto” lesson with local professional photographer Paul Peek who has 30 years experience photographing weddings, portraits and commercial projects.

We agreed on Southwold in Suffolk as a good location for the lesson as it offers plenty of opportunities to capture a variety of interesting shots.

The day of the lesson was looking busy in the studio, so we agreed 3 hours maximum with Paul and learnt so much in that short space of time about camera settings.

These are a selection of the shots taken in those 3 hours. We are really pleased with them. What do you think? Please be kind… we’re only amateurs!

If you would like to improve your own photography skills, learn more about your cameras settings, composition and lighting, Paul runs various half and full day lessons at Norfolk and Suffolk locations. You can also learn studio craft by booking on to his studio lighting course. Contact Paul via his website: www.peekphotography.co.uk

We’re really looking forward to our next lesson (when we can fit it in!) which will be all about composition and framing.
